Guangzhou (JLC), December 10, 2024 – China’s total value of imports and exports of goods grew 4.9% year on year to 39.79 trillion yuan in January-November, data from the General Administration of Customs of the PRC (GACC) showed.
Exports of goods reached 23.04 trillion yuan in January-November, up 6.7% year on year, the data showed.
Imports of goods stood at 16.75 trillion yuan in this period, up 2.4% year on year.
The trade surplus hit 6.29 trillion yuan, a surge of 19.8% from the same period of time last year, the GACC data showed.
The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) continued to be China’s top trading partner.
China’s trade with ASEAN grew 8.6% year on year to 6.29 trillion yuan in January-November, accounting for 15.8% of the country's total foreign trade. Its exports to ASEAN surged 12.7% to 3.74 trillion yuan, and its imports from ASEAN rose 3.0% to 2.55 trillion yuan.
The country’s trade with EU, China’s second largest trading partner, rose 1.3% year on year to 5.09 trillion yuan, accounting for 12.8% of the country's total foreign trade. Its exports to EU were up 3.8% to 3.34 trillion yuan but imports from the partner went down 3.3% to 1.75 trillion yuan.
Meanwhile, China’s trade with the USA gained 4.2% to 4.44 trillion yuan, with its exports to the USA up 5.1% to 3.38 trillion yuan and imports from the USA up 1.4% to 1.06 trillion yuan, the GACC said.
In November alone, China's total foreign trade was 3.75 trillion yuan, up 1.4% month on month and 1.2% year on year, the GACC also said.
