Beijing (JLC), July 7, 2025--JLC partners with Xinhua Indices Institute and The Price Association of China in releasing the China Energy and Chemical Spot Assessment Index (CECSAI) at the Global Digital Economy Conference 2025 held in Beijing between the 2nd and 5th of July, marking a new milestone for JLC in its endeavor to establish the benchmark prices and trend indicators for China’s spot market.
The Conference was jointly held by The People’s Government of Beijing Municipality, the Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC), National Data Bureau, Xinhua News Agency and UN Development Programme, and served as a platform for experts in digital economy, industry leaders, think-tanks and media houses for an in-depth exchange in the governance and development of digital economy.
The CECSAI was published on “Data Value Forum”, a sub-session of the Conference, to which Mr. Huang Haixin (Sunny Huang), Founder and Co-Chairman of JLC, was invited as a key speaker. Mr. Huang was joined by Mr. Cao Zhanzhong, General Manager of Xinhua Indices under China Economic Information Service, and Mr. Song Xiaowei, Chief of Specialized Committee on Data & Prices under The Price Association of China. At the forum, Mr. Cao pointed it out that indices, which are based on high quality data, reflect advanced productivity, and can incubate higher values for society when utilised wisely. To facilitate the development of digital economy, indices need to be applied in more scenarios in the future. Mr. Huang emphasized that the petrochemical industry is the bedrock of a country’s economy and people’s livelihood, and the credibility and transparency of pricing in this industry makes a significant impact on national energy security, resilience of the industry chain, and sound development, especially in a time when the world is undergoing profound changes in energy market and beyond. Mr. Huang’s remarks were echoed by Mr. Song, who viewed the CECSAI as a landmark showcase for the integration of data and the petrochemical industry, and expressed his hope that more enterprises across the value chain would actively apply the index in practice.
The CECSAI will be available on the official website of Xinhua Indices since 7th July, 2025.
