Beijing (JLC), October 27, 2022--China’s total installed power generation capacity amounted to 2.48 billion kW as of September 2022, increasing by 8.1% from the same time in 2021, data from the National Energy Administration showed.
The installed capacity from wind power was around 350 million kW, rising by 16.9% year on year. That from solar power were around 360 million kW, a year-on-year increase of 28.8%.
The electricity generated for industrial consumption of designated scale of enterprises were 6.3 trillion kWh in January-September 2022, growing by 2.2% from the same period in 2021. The amount generated from thermal power was 4.4 trillion kWh, an uptick of 0.5% year on year. That generated from hydropower, nuclear power, wind power, solar power and other clean energy was 1.9 trillion kWh, increasing by 6.5% from the first nine months last year.
During the same period, the working time of China’s power generation equipment dwindled by 87 hours on average from the same period last year to 2,799 hours in January-September 2022. That of thermal power stations decreased by 49 hours to 3,295 hours, that of nuclear power stations declined by 267 hours to 5,576 hours and that of wind power stations fell by 24 hours to 1,616 hours.
